Originally, there were two branches of the bloodline: The main branch Asakami and the minor branch Asagami. Originally, their lineage was from a long line of shrine maidens that were able to communicate with gods and other supernatural forces.

The Asakamis were one of the 4 main clans of the Demon Hunter Organization, with their specialty being a stronger form of Telekinesis.

On the other hand the Asagamis have survived to the present day by casting off their old ways and instead, pivot towards a more business-oriented lifestyle.
